I'm still using 56.0.2 (postponing the inevitable as long as possible) so that may well be the sole cause of the following problem. But I'd appreciate someone kindly checking for me please.
If I go to https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice, navigate to any post in any forum and click REPLY ... the page quickly fades to near white and nothing is accessible.
I was actually trying to reply in this Excel thread https://tinyurl.com/ybt3sapt
I had to use my extension 'Open in Chrome' or 'Open in IE' to do so.

Does the same thing occur if you launch the application in Mozilla Safe Mode? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode

Re: Why this site fades to white?
Thanks, Dan. No, interestingly it doesn't. I'm replying from Safe Mode now - an alien environment which I'm always keen to leave asap. I'll restart and later today take a look at my extensions. There are many, so any tips on lkely culprits woud be appreciated please.DanRaisch wrote:Does the same thing occur if you launch the application in Mozilla Safe Mode? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode

Re: Why this site fades to white?
Hmm, very odd. When I returned to normal mode I checked the REPLY button again - and no fade out! With hindsight I should have checked that before trying it in safe mode. I'm now left wondering whether the feedback I sent to the site manager last night (and/or an OT post a few hours earlier) resulted in impressively fast action. Seems unlikely, but can't think of any other reason for this apparent cure.

Hi Terry,
That happens....occasionally.
Seems that it may be the way that the extensions etc., are "re-loaded."
Not sure.
Others to comment?
Anyway, glad that it "seems to be fixed."

Re: Why this site fades to white?
That's the only explanation that I can recall being offered to explain situations where there is an issue in regular mode which disappears in that environment after the browser is started in Safe Mode and then restarted in regular mode.
