Firefox 57 blank space in url bar dropdown and one request

Post by Necronomicon »

I need help with removing blank space in urlbar dropdown list:
https://ibb.co/dvsSCR

Also, is there a possibility to revert back to old FF4x (with installed classic theme restorer, which doesn't work now) that url bar doesn't act as awesomebar, but as an old style search. Because most used urls are not shown when I start typing.

Thanks.

Have you tried using the keyboard down arrow to move the highlight to that blank space and then press the Del key?

That 'blank space' usually contains 'search with' on one line and below that all the installed 'search engines'. Yours are missing so I assume you have perhaps removed them.

I don't know if a css-hack can remove that area or not.

That would be unlikely in the extreme. And just to be sure things are clear here, we're not Mozilla. This forum is not run by or formally associated with Mozilla. We're an independent user-helping-user community.

Hi Necronomicon,
Here's the image of what you should be seeing...as TheVisitor mentioned.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I removed "search with". Also, luckly, I found out from developers of "classic theme restorer" that they've putted css version of CTR. So all is fine now, with some of my few tweaks.

Now one more question, and I suppose that it also has to do with css, but couldn't find it anywhere. Is there some tweak to make tabs a bit smaller in lenght?

Oh, and I don't know if this is a bug or it just happens to me, but there is a problem with _ []X (window part for minimize, maximize, close) when title bar is removed (customize) and also menu bar, it overlaps with FF top-right part.
So it shows like this:

How did you get that back to working again, like older versions did?
Fire 750, bring back 250.

There you go:

Just go to Profile folder of Firefox, make folder called chrome, and put extracted files there.

Urlbar doesn't quite react (even from original files) as old type, but it is close as it gets.
