Perhaps right-click options like rename could be incorporated in the ongoing downloads window? That, and other basic DSB functions like the ability to delete the file via the listing rather than navigating to the download folder...

I love this extension but it's unfortunately no longer functional with Firefox 57.
I am currently developing a version for Firefox 57 with the main features that I use.
I'll let you know if I get there.

I think this is one of the most useful add-ons available for Firefox and I hope you are able to modify it for use with Firefox 57. Good luck with this!

I am authoring a new Download Statusbar Bar add-on.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... tatus-bar/

I published user interface for Downloas Status Bar and will write the Options soon.

Statusbar Download Bar indicates for each download item:

Name
Download Speed
Progress
Download icon

Right clicking at each download item gets you download context menu where you can launch and open containing folder and more.

Could you please install and suggest about new add-on?

Cheers

Are there plans to update this for the latest version of firefox (released Nov 2017)? I am very sad It no longer works

I just noticed this https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... tatus-bar/

Nothing like the original but I guess it's a starting point.

Thx for sharing this! Sure, it´s not like the original but it´s better than nothing.
And it should be interesting for @arnolem because there seems to be an option for a horizontal bar at the bottom of the window he maybe is not aware off:

I have bad news.
The new WebExtentions APIs no longer allow access to downloads from a horizontal bar at the bottom of the window.
If you have an opinion

As you say, maybe it´s a starting point for developing the original status bar. I hope so.
Good find! =D>

I'm happy to see the author is updating this extension almost daily.

For me the bar is still too wide and there is no way to change the bar colour to show different speeds.

It's still a nice step forward though :)

Version 1.7.0 was released yesterday.
Status bar has been made a bit smaller and other minor updates.
Still no way to change bar colour to indicate download speed, I don't know if this is possible with the new extensions.

Features now as follows.

Reveal download in Explorer/Finder
Pause/Resume/Cancel/Delete Downloads
Clear all/individual downloads from the bar
Light and Dark themes
Auto hide downloads after a specified amount of time
Play a sound when a download finishes
Preview image downloads

I really love this extension, but FireFox updated and this is no longer compatible :(

Any idea when this might be updated for the current version of Firefox?

That link brings me to the page that says it's not compatible with the newest version that I have. Any idea how long it will be until the updated version rolls out?

Your extension has worked for me for so many years so well!! Are you going to update it? I really miss it!
The alternative posted there is really bad compared to your develpment!

The main developer hasn't said anything until FF 57 arrived, another member tried to update this add-on but unfortunately Mozilla has removed a lot of APIs and made it almost impossible to build a download bar as we know it. The quoted WX Download Bar is the best you can get atm and it's in active development so we can hope that it's getting better. The developer has implemented a lot of features since the release and I'm confident that it will be a good alternative in the near future. And it's the only alternative.
