why does Videodownloader oblige us to buy Companion?
It's to make some money ?
Please give us some explanations

No, you are not obliged to buy Companion.
There may be some ancillary features (or whatever) that it has that it wants to charge for, but the basic features work without buying.

the converter is also available for osx?

Extensions are limited to 720p, however. for windows there exist a bunch of downloader (in general or specific for larger videos).
