Yahoo mail decided that it would no longer work in SeaMonkey.
I used general.useragent.override to spoof it to show that I was using FF 58.
Is this going to affect updates to newer versions of Seamonkey?
Thanks.
Changed useragent-will it affect updates?

The useragent is what the browser displays to websites. Changing the UA to another browser UA will not mean you will get updates meant for say Firefox in this case.
In SeaMonkey, Edit > Preferences > Advanced > HTTP Networking > User Agent String [v] Advertise Firefox Compatibility.

(Others have posted of useragent issues with Yahoo. None such on my end.
And yes, at least per your current UA, you are not showing SeaMonkey, so hard to tell if you were or were not using 'Advertise Firefox Compatibility' to begin with
The only site I visit that mentions anything to me, is, well, I was going to say Bank of America, but that [message] is no longer there.)

Only use the site specific version or you will mess up things on other sites you visit. Like login buttons not working on random websites and all sorts.fixit77 wrote:I used general.useragent.override to spoof it to show that I was using FF 58..
Make sure general.useragent.site_specific_overrides is set to true and then they are entered like this - general.useragent.override.facebook.com
Neither general or specific will mess up updates.
