Thanks for your suggestion, I finally found how to set windows search off. Hopefully, that may fix my problem. I will post again on my results.

Actually, it seems to go south less often after I turned off Allow Windows Search! Thanks!

That options simply helps the Windows Search function access data from Thunderbird. If you don't use Windows Search to look for information within messages in Thunderbird you won't miss anything at all.
