Installing SeaMonkey with an Existing Profile

Post by ncvaca »

I am using SeaMonkey on a Windows 10 OS computer. I had a problem with the computer (not related to SeaMonkey) and brought it to a shop for repair. The technician just told me he needed to reload Windows 10, but all my data - including my SeaMonkey profile data - was saved and will be restored. When I get the machine back, I'll need to reinstall SeaMonkey.

When I download and install SeaMonkey, will it automatically find my existing profile? If not, what do I need to do? I'd appreciate some help. I am not a SeaMonkey or Windows 10 expert!

Thanks!

I'd verify that your Profile folder is there & what is there looks to be as expected.

Then back it up.

Install SeaMonkey & see what it sees.
(SeaMonkey will only see the existing Profile if it [also] sees an existing Profiles.ini file & that profiles.ini file points to the expected Profile.)

In any case, you should always be able to work around such things (except if the Profile itself is not there) to get things working.
Fire 750, bring back 250.
