Regarding Webrender. There is a patch currently on inbound that fixes some of the flickering issues. Unfortunatley when running on inbound with this patch the flickering seems to be lessened but it's not completely gone. The bug report is 1432309 – Text rendering corruptions with WebRender

Bookmarks favicons are not updating when there is a change in favicon picture. Is this a known issue ?

I don't know if it is still true, but I came across a comment in one bug report stating that the intended behavior is that a saved favicon (such as for bookmarks) is kept for seven days and then "expires", meaning that after 7 days the favicon used for bookmarks and history should refresh on the next visit to that site.

The down side of saving I/O to the favicons.sqlite database is that the favicon for bookmarks and history can be up to 7 days out of date

How?

If you used the build1 candidate and there is a build2 what will you do? A build3, 4 or more.

Can't wait for an official release from https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/ or an update notification from 59.0b5?

I'm happy that you are happy.

Can anyone repro this:

use f11 to enter fullscreen mode
press CTRL+L to call up the URL bar

firefox leaves full screen and does not return (unsure whether this is intended)
pressing f11 makes firefox "leave" fullscreen even though it's not in it any longer (in so far as the UI would lead you to believe)
you must press f11 again to actually re-enter fullscreen

At this point I am still in full screen mode, with the tab and URL bar showing. After this point I get focus out of the URL bar, and then wave the cursor over the URL bar and out and the top elements vanish. At no time in this process do I leave full screen.

I'm using Xfce on Ubuntu.

ooh I see. I was not using my mouse at all for this and presumed that because i could not dispel the url/tab bars with the keyboard, that I had left fullscreen mode. My mistake! ](*,)

Slightly offtopic.

Is there a way to see why Firefox Nightly is trying to access the Desktop when browsing on certain websites, like https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/window ... e-app-data ?

I have Windows Defender Controlled Folder Access enabled and I'm sick of getting "Firefox trying to make changes to %userprofile%\Desktop"

With todays nightly the "spinner" on tabs is missing with webrender enabled. Working fine with webrender disabled.

I'm saying that is the wrong location there. There could be more than one build before an official release.

They can be downloaded from https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/beta/all/

I just did a Help > About Firefox and the official 59.0b6 is not released yet. I'm still on 59.0b5.

You downloaded a candidate of beta 6. There could be several candidates before one is selected as the official beta release.

You're better off watching the release directories or just letting your beta install update automagically.

The "official beta 6 release" is here:
https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/59.0b6/
