Tax Print Issue

Post by costark »

I've used a recommended "interactive" Form 40 for my State Return that performs calculations in related forms.
It REQUIRES PRINT be via a Green Button at Pg 1 top for Special Printing of the Form / Bar Codes and it is unresponsive for FF 58.0.1 & IE 11.
I'm using PDF-Xchange Editor for PDF - deleted Adobe.
Sumatra & FF PDF Preview didn't work either.
Would you think in 2018 with many Adobe alt's there's Any Chance ONLY Adobe will work for Printing this state return?

Any thoughts are appreciated.

In some cases States and Federal agencies establish an accepted Standard software format.
If the software you are using does not comply it;s a gamble as to whether it will work or not.
Limited access in some cases can extend to earlier versions of the same software.
Alternative may be to copy the page if submission went through but I'd check with the comptrollers office for your state.
Most States now have a verification process available.
Doesn't matter what you say, it's wrong for a toaster to walk around the house and talk to you

I'm using PDF-Xchange Editor for PDF
Is this as an embedded document (pdf) in FF?

Does FF 58 support plugins other then Flash?
So are you using PDF-Xcange Editor or are you using FF's built-in PDF viewer?

URL to this Form 40?
Fire 750, bring back 250.

First Group in URL page (Most popular forms) has Form 40 Link which opens in PDF XChange's separate window.
Green Print bar at Pg 1 top left is what's unresponsive.

Options/General/Applications/ Portable Document Format line: PDF XChange Editor (default) shows in window;
Sumatra didn't work and neither did FF Preview FROM the same FF App window.
Tried from IE 11, too. Sad day IF in 2018 Adobe a MUST for some situations like this.

TaxAct has embedded "Don't Print" on return pages as their forms haven't recvd State Approval.
Just learned the Delay has (allegedly) been reduced so by end of next week I should Print from Tax Software, which does fine with PDF XChange.

Thanks for the interest!!
