What major features/security i lose if i switch from Firefox 56.0.2 (64-bit) to Firefox ESR 52.5.3 in my Mac?
Is there any writeup about this?

None.
You actually gain - because 56 no longer gets any security updates, where 52 does.
And current 52 is 52.6 (not 52.5.3).
