TB e mail problem
When the e mail comes in & you open it up, it stays dark as the new e mail is when it arrives in the in box. Looks like you haven't read it. What do I need to do to correct that. Using profile manger for both of us and my e mail does not do that.

How is the account set up in Thunderbird, as a POP it IMAP type account?
How many messages are in the Inbox folder?

Take a look at Options -> Display, Advanced. There are settings for "automatically mark messages as read" 'immediately' or 'after displaying for xx seconds'.

Re: TB e mail problem
After checking smsmith's suggestion regarding that setting, if messages are still not being marked as read:
Right click on the Inbox folder name and select "Properties" from the context menu that appears.
Next click on the "Repair folder" button.

Re: TB e mail problem
I did follow his suggestion and that fixed the problem, why I don't know as I had the same settings so I just redid the other profile & it was OK then. Must have needed to jog it a bit.
