I want to convert from Firefox 56.0.2 (32bit) to Firefox 52.6.0 ESR (64bit). I have the ESR install file. What do I have to do to get my bookmarks, history, and add-ons into the new ESR installation?
OS=Windows 10
Change FF to FF-ESR but keep bookmarks, history, and addons?

See here:

If you copy places.sqlite from an old profile to a new profile, you will keep bookmarks and history - but you will lose favicons until you re-visit the sites, I believe.
I have no comment on the addons.

You can get your bookmark icons back by copying over favicons.sqlite as well as places.sqlite.
places.sqlite contains the data for your bookmarks.
favicons.sqlite contains the icons associated with your bookmarks. (If you don't copy that file over then you will need to visit every site you have bookmarked so that FF can download the icons again and put them in [the new] favicons.sqlite it created.)
