Which extensions do you miss the most?
Ever since the change of architecture with Firefox 57, which extensions that you used to use before that are no longer available that you miss the most?
For me, I had a whole host of little extensions that simplified my life while surfing, which I doubt I will ever see a replacement for for a number of years. For example, TabMixPlus, which used to give me a whole bunch of options for controlling your tab behaviour; I've found some Tab extensions but they are nowhere near as comprehensive as this one was. Another one was Classic Theme Restorer, which brought the Firefox look back to an even earlier time. One extension was called BBCodeXtra, which was useful for wrapping tags around text under various web forums software, such BBCode or HTML, etc.

Easy. Downthemall. All the other add-ons I use were updated to webextensions, so that's the only one I'm missing. I'm using All Downloader Professional as a replacement for now, but it's not the same.

Video downloadhelper . The webextension version is not workable, but hopefully things will get better.

Googlebar Lite. I miss the multiple search word highlighting feature.

I was irate when my extensions no longer worked, but now I've got about half replaced and can't remember the other half.

Check out the author's userChrome repository:bbbl67 wrote:Classic Theme Restorer

Maybe BB Code Helper or Edit.bbbl67 wrote:BBCodeXtra
I miss
- Context Search. I'm using Context Search WebExtension but it lacks POST support, like all alternatives. I'm hoping bug 1352598 will take care of this.
- Cookie Controller. I now have a userChrome.js button to toggle cookies globally, but I'm still missing a way to quickly clear session cookies. I can't tell if that's something covered by bug 1291841.

Just TabMixPlus really. I don't like the way native Ctrl+Tab MRU works.bbbl67 wrote:Ever since the change of architecture with Firefox 57, which extensions that you used to use before that are no longer available that you miss the most?

Same here. All the extensions I used before are now web extensions.Brummelchen wrote:in short: none

Re: Which extensions do you miss the most?
As a minimalist, the addons I miss most are:
Focus Keyboard, Extensions Options Menu, Hide Caption Titlebar Plus, Private Tab, HideScrollbars**, Tile Tabs*, and Maëlan's TitleURL.
Other addons I miss, to a lesser extent, are:
{insert Restart addon here}, Bookmark Favicon Changer*, Tab Wheel Scroll, Vertical Toolbar*.
*I've at least been able use CSS to morph my bookmarks bar into a auto-hiding vertical toolbar, and can manually change individual bookmark favicons (though I'm too lazy to do so just yet). I'm using Open Link in Sidebar to partially replace Tile Tabs, though of course it is a pale reflection of how powerful Tile Tabs was.
**I've been unable to work the UserJS hack to remove my scrollbars or create that neat Restart Button that's been floating around recently for some reason.

Is there are replacement for the Add-on toolbar, that used to go along the bottom of the window?

All of them.bbbl67 wrote:which extensions that you used to use before that are no longer available that you miss the most?
(If I wanted to miss them, I would have stopped using them well before 57.)
Is there supposed to be some reason I should be glad that they're no longer there, or if they are there, that they're no longer as useful as they were?
I don't see where having less is "better".
