What I did was
I moved my TB to a portable app on a USB stick,
then I deleted TB as an installed program on my hard drive c:
Since then, perhaps not surprisingly, I can no longer use TB as my default email client?
If I go into the section of default programmes and find the MAILTO protocol, I still cannot see Thunderbird as an option, even when the USB drive is mounted.
Any clues how to sort this out?

Re: TB portable app as default email client?
You may not be able to. The defaults are managed by the operating system and the settings stored in the Windows Registry. I don't believe it will take notice of the portable version on an external drive.
