Blocksite extension does not work

I recently added "blocksite" to the browser. When I add sites to block, the extension does not seem to work. The sites can still be accessed. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you closed n reopened Firefox to complete the extensions installation?

Yes, several times. It also shows on "about:config" as being installed and enabled.

Thanks, that first link helped, but how would I ever know to write the site this way "http://*.microsoft.*" ???
I could not find instructions about that. When I formatted the site with the "*", it worked.

Blocksite extension not menu "options" . I block site ,but not unblock. Why "options" not work?
