memory problem in Windows 10

Post by MaybeYou »

Running Firefox 58.0.2 (64 bit) in Windows 10 64 bit Home.

Windows 10 gives the following error:
Event ID 2004
Windows successfully diagnosed a low virtual memory condition. The following programs consumed the most virtual memory: firefox.exe (1468) consumed 4916072448 bytes, firefox.exe (9200) consumed 399286272 bytes, and firefox.exe (6916) consumed 371204096 bytes.
Only 6 tabs open.
How can I prevent this?

How much physical RAM do you have?
Have you changed settings in the way that Windows uses RAM (virtual memory)?

FF itself is using > 4GB RAM which might be unusual for a "typical" user, but by the same token, it might not be out of the ordinary depending on a particular user's usage.
Fire 750, bring back 250.
