can't view any Twitter videos on Firefox 58.0.2 (Linux)

Post by neutrino78x »

On Fedora Linux 27, with Firefox 58.0.2, I can't view any videos on Twitter. I can see Twitter videos with Google Chrome for Linux and I can see them using Firefox on Windows 10, but not on Linux.

Any ideas? Codec issue? Are there codecs that Google Chrome includes and Fedora doesn't?

Are you able to view HTML5 player videos like those at Youtube?

All checks should be blue at https://www.youtube.com/html5

If a couple are red then perhaps you did not install packages like FFmpeg in the package manager.

Also embeded twitter videos may not work but will work on twitter.com, an issue with twitter site. Some videos you may have to right-click them and select Play and then you can click on play button to load video.
