the "Fanboy’s Annoyance List" has become a new entry -> .back2top
that cause ublock to filter the line with user agent in this forum.
the only solution for now is to disable the cosmetic filter for mzine in ublock (click the eye in dialog popup).
i suggest renaming this class in the forum software.
class back2top and ublock concerns mzine

May be related, there was a notice a while back, maybe several weeks, these databases could be added too fairly promiscuously by anyone. . .
. . . it was suggested the possibility of errors or false and erroneous code could be added.

@mightyglydd - I searched for the link which made mention of the possibility.
This Register article was all I found.
The original article referred to in my post was found due to a search for issues with uBlock Origin, trying to find a mention of similar errors. What was occurring was a continuous updating or connection to the filter servers when all was supposed to be current and up to date.
This was constant, not once a day and the automatic update features were turned off.
I liked the program but there was no way to stop the increasing connections made and attempted.
It was worse than the constant connection attempts to the 52-54 ip ranges for Amazon servers Edgecast uses.
