A replacement for Tab Mix Plus?

Post by Alfred001 »

Does anyone know of any similar extension?

The functionality I need specifically is one that would make tabs open to the right of the active tab, rather than all the way on the far right end.

Hi Alfred,
If you do not want to install an extension just to open a new link adjacent to the active one then try this...
Open a new blank tab & type or copy 'n' paste > about:config into the URL Bar.
Search for > tabs or > browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent
This should be set at the default of TRUE.
If not, then right click & select "Reset."
You may have had it set to "False", & that is why the new link opens on the RHS.

Moving this to Firefox Support...

If you used TMP to open various things in new tabs, the following in about:config do the same thing now when set to "true":

browser.search.openintab - Search Bar opens new tab
browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInTabs - Bookmarks open in a new tab
browser.urlbar.openintab - Stuff typed into address/url bar open in a new tab, added in Firefox 60

@Limpet235

What is a "related tab"? As opposed to what: an unrelated one, I suspect?

Hi,
The "related tab" is the one/err.... link/page you want to open next to the currently active tab & not have the links/tabs at the Right hand end.
....just to open a new link adjacent to the active one
You might be on a site/page where you want to open a few more articles that are relative to the current page.
Opening each link makes it easier & more convenient to find the new articles etc, instead of amongst all your other tabs.

Why not try it & see?
You can always reverse the action, as noted..
Just "RESET" the pref back to the default.

Yep, it was set to FALSE. Thanks!

You're welcome Alfred...
Much easier & quicker & more efficient than having to install an extension, just for one pref/option.

Hello everybody,

I've the same question, but because of an other functionality.

The functionality I need specifically is the possibility to show tabs on multi lines!

I've tried some tab organizers but the best for me it's to have my tabs (yes, I've Tabfullness desease!!!) shown like that:

Thanks for support and sorry for my English (tell me if it's better opening an other thread)!

Hi accroche, as you probably know, WebExtensions (as contrasted with legacy extensions) cannot modify the structure of toolbars.

There are various style recipes for use in an optional userChrome.css file but the ones I've seen have some issues. This thread has some options: Tabs in two or more Rows (like TabMixPro) in Quantum?

Thanks a lot!

I searched with the bad translation: "lines" instead of "raws"!

I tried with userChrome.css, it's perfectly working !
I'm not the author of the thread so I can't put "Solved" but it's exactly what I was looking for.

:)

Thank you. The latter fixed an annoyance I've been trying to fix since the creation of webextensions.
