how to use "quote the last message" on the forum SOLVED!

Post by terrathunderbird »

Hi folks...I see the usefulness of quoting a previous response. But I can't figure out the logic of how to use the "quote the last message" versus "quote selected". They seem to override one another.

Moving to MozillaZine Site Discussion as this is not a Thunderbird question.

If you are referring to "Reply with quote" vs "Quote Selected"...

Quote Selected requires that you first highlight text and then it copies only that highlighted text, either from the previous reply or any other post on that page. For example:

Reply with quote, on the other hand, quotes the entire text of a previous quote, as follows:

The first allows for more specificity, while the other makes it simpler to quote an entire post.
