I have in my Address Book the string "BRC" added to some addresses in the Display Field. When I try to use "BRC" as part of a "Found, Containing" search it doesn't work.
The implication of this is I can't filter on the "Display Field", only on the original email address.
It might be a nice addition to the Filtering algorithm to use it
