a free VPN for FF ver 52

Post by petergo »

hi there

I have been searching for a free VPN extension, but the six I have found all require a newer version of FF than I have.

I truly want to keep version ESR 52.3.0

Are there any free VPN extensions for version 52 or earlier?

kindest thanks, cheers

Hi Peter,
I don't use any VPN so...
You may like to check out "Tunnel Bear" & read all the comments & reviews.
It has both free & paid versions & does not keep records.
Supposed to be O.K. but...?
Try it out but check the other suggested VPN's as well.

So what is it that you are actually looking for? It would be easier for folks to offer recommendations if they know what you need/want.

g'day Dan the Man,

trust all well on the right coast still

I need a VPN that does P2P and supports bittorrents

thanks m8
cheers

PS... and works with ver 52 and earlier, most of the recommended VPN's for FF, require ver 56 or newer

Why insist on an extension for Firefox rather than a standalone VPN that would work with any browser?

Peter,
Did you check the other "recommendations" in the 1st link from PC Mag?
Might find a more suitable one?

hi Dan

I have a standalone VPN.
I thought it would be better to have a VPN as an extension though

also thought some FF fans might have an extension, and could tell us

thank you, cheers

Mr.L

I see my last reply appears three times, WTF !

I did check theother recommendation on the page you sent to me, most of them are not free, and also need ver 55 or newer

I apologize to everyone that my reply above appears three times.
I think it's because the "submit" button kept popping up

thnks, cheers

No, it will still work but there will be no security updates or fixes for that version.

Firefox 52.9.0esr out on June 26 was the last major update for the legacy 52 ESR. Apart from any minor updates for security and or stability fixes in meantime it will be made EOL on Sept 5 with no more updates to 52 ESR then. Sept 5 is when the current versions will be Firefox 62.0 Release and 60.2.0 ESR.
