2. Hover over the urlbar (but don't click).
3. Scroll horizontally until you reach the right end (for LTR systems) of the urlbar, so that there is no fading text on this right end anymore.

Oh....now that explains it. I always set about:blank for startup page and newtab.

I didn't set about:blank at foxygesture (it doesnt work correctly for my case) because I prefer firefox menu option.



I only set 'blank page' over firefox menu here
