Under Ubuntu 18.04, since an automatic update from Thunderbird 59 to 60 I've lost Lightning and of course all my appointments!!
The Mozilla message says Lightning 5.4 is (disabled). What can I do to retrieve my appointments?? Garoolgan The current version of Lightning for Thunderbird 60.2.1 is version 6.2.2.1.
Try opening a terminal and type: sudo apt-get install xul-ext-lightning. That will install Ubuntu's version of the Lightning extension and you should have no problem with updates after that. Linux Desktop - AMD Athlon(tm) II X3 455 3.3GHz | 8.0GB RAM | GeForce GT 630
Windows Notebook - AMD A8 7410 2.2GHz | 6.0GB RAM | AMD Radeon R5 Thanks that works, I was perspiring there for a bit having lost all my appointments ! - Garoolgan
Thanks for this tidbit. Save me some aggravation for sure. -- Mike I tried the above and it did not work. However, I found that in order for this to work, you have to make sure all of thunderbird and lightning have been removed first:
sudo apt-get remove xul-ext-lightning sudo apt-get remove thunderbird then, doing sudo apt-get install xul-ext-lightning will install thunderbird with lightning -- Jim I did it but unfortunately it didn't work!
But I succeed when previously I removed the old lightning plugin which was disabled but not removed in the Thunderbird application. and then doing the same as below : sudo apt-get remove xul-ext-lightning sudo apt-get remove thunderbird then, doing sudo apt-get install xul-ext-lightning will install thunderbird with lightning
