HelpForce cursor to address bar on new tab?

Post by ryanbhuvam »

Is there a way to force the cursor to default to within the address bar on a new tab or window open?

At the moment it waits until the default homepage (eg. Google) loads and defaults to the search bar on page.

I know you can set the new tab to blank, but this doesn't force the cursor to start typing in the address bar - at best it starts typing after whatever text is within the address bar.

I'm wasting valuable seconds trying navigate back to the address bar, highlight the text and replace with a new URL.

Ctrl+L will move the cursor to the location (address) bar and highlight it's contents. Typing will then replace that content.

What version of FF?

If you change your Home page & New Tab page to a 'blank page', then cursor will default to the URLbar.
Fire 750, bring back 250.
