Can they be hid? So never appear as choice at the dictionary's? If i delete the file "omni.ja" do i have any issues?

If you delete omni.ja, Firefox will not work at all. It will not run.

If you're able to have responsibility by yourself, you can *hack* Firefox to remove built-in dictionary. 1. Extract built_in_addons.json a. Start Firefox b. Open chrome://browser/content/built_in_addons.json c. Save page as built_in_addons.json to somewhere(e.g. C:\firefox-mod) d. Exit Firefox 2. Edit built_in_addons.json a. Delete - Code: Select all
"dictionaries": {"el": "dictionaries/el.dic"},
(result=>- Code: Select all
{"system": ["aushelper@mozilla.org", "firefox@getpocket.com", "formautofill@mozilla.org", "onboarding@mozilla.org", "screenshots@mozilla.org", "webcompat-reporter@mozilla.org", "webcompat@mozilla.org"]} (in case of Greek Firefox 63.0.3/win32(https://download.mozilla.org/?product=firefox-latest-ssl&os=win&lang=el))) 3. Edit chrome.manifest a. Copy C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\chrome.manifest to somewhere b. Edit chrome.manifest as - Code: Select all
override chrome://browser/content/built_in_addons.json /firefox-mod/built_in_addons.json
c. Copy chrome.manifest back to C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox It is necessary to repeat these steps per update since update will overwrite/change chrome.manifest and probably built_in_addons.json.Someone will find out better solution

chrome://browser/content/built_in_addons.json is just a URL, it has nothing to do with the chrome browser. You are not being asked to program you are being asked to follow steps. The first post in the link posted above https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/quest ... 800?page=1 should have fixed your problem, by letting you pick your preferred dictionary as the default, so the built in one would be ignored (although it can't be easily removed).

The old add on english-greek doesn't work at all these last days so i must download this https://addons.mozilla.org/el/firefox/addon/english-greek-spelling-diction/?src=search one. I download that one and this is the choice now: here a picture with the value you tell me to add at about:config But even i change this value the default built in only Greek dictionary doesn't change still it is the default dictionary so.......

The solution via chrome.manifest in the main Firefox program folder was the only thing that came to me as well to disable the builtin dictionary, but like written above, this requires a good understanding of how this works and you need to check this override with every Firefox update. That is the main reason that I didn't suggest it. I personally put such override files in a special override folder in the Firefox program folder. Note that chrome in this context has nothing to do with Google Chrome. https://developer.mozilla.org/en/ChromeSee also: viewtopic.php?f=38&t=3038255&p=14791796&hilit=chrome.manifest
