It works! Seriously thank you SO MUCH! This was one of my biggest pet peeves with SM.

Download and install Foxit Reader. Goes on Windows and LInux. That's it! Just works. Simple, light weight, no issues so far after years of use. OWPA.
No connections, no punts. Just got tired of Adobe issues.

forget Foxit Reader - latest versions of Foxit are almost as bloated as Adobe reader (that's right Cuadro)
new versions of the built-in PDF viewer for Seamonkey are available here:
https://github.com/IsaacSchemm/pdf.js-seamonkey/releases
also Sumatra PDF is much more lighter than Foxit reader

For Sumatra, you would need 2.5.2 .exe installer version.
That said, I have this note:
Hmm... Way back when, I could have s...Code: Select all
Sumatra PDF browser plugin this is simply a copy of: > SumatraPDF.exe > npPdfViewer.dll "extracted from the SumatraPDF-2.5.2-install.exe installer (installed sandboxed) only those two files are necessary for it to be a viable browser plugin no other files are needed & no actual installation is required i was also able to use the SumatraPDF.exe from the Sumatra-PDF_3.1.2.zip file in place of the extracted 2.5.2 version seems to work ;-) idea from: https://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=20554 as i also, already have, SumatraPDF-2.5.2.zip (which does not include the plugin), suppose all i really needed to zip up here is the actual .dll plugin, but oh well...
Oh, Plugin is 32-bit, but I'm currently using 64-bit SeaMonkey...
Let me fire up 32-bit SeaMonkey...
Nope, still not working.
Could have sworn I saw it working - at the time [& that was under XP]. ???
I wonder if I might not be missing a needed Windows Registry entry?
Fire 750, bring back 250.

Re: Built-in PDF viewer for SM
I have installed the latest pdf.js (2.0.961) from Isaac Schemm into SM 2.53 on Windows10 Pro x64 and found a minor bug.
It only shows the pdf after you click the Stop Loading Button when you click on a link to a pdf. Is somebody else experiencing this behavior and maybe is there a workaround?

Re: Built-in PDF viewer for SM
Does it depend on where the link to the pdf is (in an email, on a web page, etc.)? Does it depend on which PDF file you're looking at? Or does it happen all the time?
It might be something to do with the SeaMonkey update - I'm still on 2.49.4, it looks like. (I just use it for mail and Composer nowadays.)

Re: Built-in PDF viewer for SM
Thanks Isaac you coming back to this.
When trying to open an attachment in Mail nothing happens at all after double click or open. It also doesn't ask whether i want to open or save the file. The dialog is back after disabling the pdf plugin.
On web pages it happens all the time I try to open a Pdf.
Edit: Just checked and it also happens with local Pdf files.

Yeah, the problem happens always in 2.53, and never in 2.49. Kind of odd - I don't know what could be causing it, and I doubt I'll be able to track it down.
