Hello,
I have installed Sm 2.49.4 on Ubuntu 18.04 x64.
I installed HTTPS-Everywhere, directly from eff.org. This worked, but the settings are not accessible and there is no icon for the AddOn. Is there any way to fix that?
Kind regards

This extension tries to rewrites all requests to these sites (http://) to https://
There is no toolbar icon or menu for this extension. Note it has been known to cause some issues over the years (in reports here and at sumo) as some http:// sites may only have limited http:// support.

In Firefox it has an icon where I can control this addon. In Firefox it works properly, it only redirects if the address is know to the developers and supports https, but does not redirect to the https-version if it is available.

2019.1.7 is a webextension (as far as I can tell), so I can't imagine how it installs into SeaMonkey?
I know nothing of https everywhere, but maybe try 5.2.21.xpi from http://legacycollector.org/firefox-addo ... index.html?
(That location is an archive of "legacy" extensions, which I suppose is OK, but can't actually vouch for.)

Fire 750, bring back 250.

Well I'll be, it does install into SeaMonkey.
Wonder how it accomplishes that?
Anyhow, try the 5.x version & see if that might actually work?
(I happened to have an old 5.0.5 version on hand, & that did install, complete with a "button" allowing you to do whatever it is that https everywhere does .)

Thanks, the legacy version works!
