I see mentions of 2.53 in various threads, but 2.49 seems to be latest released?

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.19) Gecko/20110420 SeaMonkey/2.0.14 Pinball CopyURL+ FetchTextURL FlashGot NoScript I see pre-release is up to 2.9x - when will there be another release?
you can get unnofficial releases but i dunno if there is any other official releases other than 2.49.4 release, SM is Dead IMO. untill i actually see something officially released Last edited by Snake4 on April 30th, 2019, 5:55 pm, edited 1 time in total.
What's the advantage/ disadvantage of the "unofficial" release - are they stable? better?
Thanks! /j
2.53 is pretty stable, your better off to read the future of seamonkey thread for the question you just asked.
2.9x? Where do you see that? SeaMonkey 2.9.1 was released in October 2015. Linux Desktop - AMD Athlon(tm) II X3 455 3.3GHz | 8.0GB RAM | GeForce GT 630
Windows Notebook - AMD A8 7410 2.2GHz | 6.0GB RAM | AMD Radeon R5
SM is not totally dead, Mouse4. it's just on hold until a new build infrastructure gets implemented for SM: https://blog.seamonkey-project.org/2019/02/18/all-humors-aside/ after that happens, an official SM 2.49.5 release may come though - just not quite in the immediate future > after that happens, an official SM 2.49.5 release may come though - just not quite in the immediate future
The builders are now happily building. Just manually for now but they do. I already did x86 and shiny new x64 test builds for 2.49.5 on Windows and IanN for Linux and macOS. Some final fixes are being prepared.
Hooray! This is good news!
although too little too late for me as I will permanently stop using any SM 2.49.x version on all my computers and will use either the 2.53 or 2.57 versions in July; that's when Mozilla will release FF 68 ESR 2.57 is not yet ready for the public. When 2.49.5 is done I hope to have more time for it. As an interm 2.53 will probably stay with us a while longer.
though I'm already beta testing 2.57 on a backup hard drive on a PC recently. I have removed SM v2.49.5 on all of my other computers and have upgraded them to either 2.53 or 2.57 since the 2nd half of 2019 has begun
