i see there's a post ( comment 19 ) explains how to bypass the issue
If you want to watch somewhere for user-facing updates on this issue, it looks like https://twitter.com/mozamo is the place to watch
caitmuenster has also said this page will receive official updates/statuses on the issue:

Getting Extensions to Work

Post by Mark12547 »

In Nightly (suppose to also work in Dev, but I haven't tested it), set about:config setting xpinstall.signatures.required to False and the extensions should work.

Reappearing of 3 year old issue, and now with that much force and with such range, it looks kinda very unprofessional. ](*,)

I'm just wondering how many of Firefox users Mozilla will loose now because of this issue.
Maybe less than 5% browser market share will be breached.

Doesn't work for me either in the beta 15, Nightly just won't run at all.

Looks like a 'fix' is in:
Update: We have rolled out a partial fix for this issue. We generated a new intermediate certificate with the same name/key but an updated validity window and pushed it out to users via Normandy (this should be most users). Users who have Normandy on should see their add-ons start working over the next few hours. We are continuing to work on packaging up the new certificate for users who have Normandy disabled.
Whatever 'Normandy' is... doubt anyone knows...

Well it appears at the moment that Mozilla's next trick will be that Nightly Updates 'Won't'... says I'm up to date.

My guess is that they stopped updates until they can release an update that fixes the problem.
(That's what I would do.)
