It does.
Select the Extensions tab. The search field is there.

strange. I use the portable thunderbird version. Is this the reason why you can not see this?

There is a "Search on addons.thunderbird.net" textbox in the extensions tab for me.
* open extensions tab i.e. Tools > Addons > Extensions
* type "Enigmail" in search box
* press enter to search
