I tried discussing it over here, but one of the forum busy-bodies took it upon themselves to lock that.

Does anybody know how this older extension fits in with the new extensions/addons scheme? Is this totally a has been, or would there be any use going forward? Could it be adapted or replaced with something else to work with the new scheme?
