Tab crazy
Has anyone had a problem with using the mouse to click a new tab open ?
Since FF 68 came out if I use my mouse to open a new tab, 2 sometimes 3 of the same tab open up.
I have tried it with extensions disabled and still does it.
I have tried the same thing in chrome and explorer and I have no problem.
I use the center wheel click to open a new tab and have never had this problem before. I even tried a different mouse , same thing happens and only in FF since I went to 68 and 68.01.
Can any body help this is getting annoying .
Thanks.

Re: Tab crazy
I don't see that problem here with version 68.0.1 under Win 10. Can you open a new tab by right clicking on a link and selecting "Open in new tab"?

Yes that works fine but its easier just to click the center wheel.
It just opened 3 of the same tabs while I was browsing on this site.

Re: Tab crazy
Despite seeing that with a second mouse it sounds very much like a mouse setting issue. If the mouse (mice) has a scroll week, just as an experiment, try changing the setting for that wheel to eliminate scrolling. Then try clicking on a link in Firefox.

I changed the settings on the mouse, seems to be better . Will see how it goes .
Just wondering why it started with FF 68, it did not do it with FF 67 .
Thanks for the help.

Can't help with solving your issue but just to let you know. I am on Windows 7 and using Firefox 68.0.1. I too frequently use clicking with the mouse-wheel to open a link in a new tab. On my own system I am not experiencing the issue you have. So, I would say, you can rule out that Firefox 68.0.1 itself is causing the issue - problem must lie somewhere else.

Re: Tab crazy
Outside chance but try testing it with Firefox running in Safe Mode.

Note that running in Safe Mode does disable extensions but is not exactly the same as manually disabling extensions so it would be worth a try.Outside chance but try testing it with Firefox running in Safe Mode.

Wired mouse? Wireless mouse? These suggestions rank right up there with "Did you reboot?" in that they invoke the "you're kidding, right?" response, but you'd be surprised how often they work:
Wired mouse - try another mouse. Could be sticky contacts, frayed cords, etc.
Wireless mouse - change the battery with a fresh one or try a different one.
I had this issue with a wireless mouse once. Turned out my kid had spilled something on the mouse and didn't tell me, so the button was sticking.

Wireless mouse change the sender location or just pull it out and push it back in

Re: Tab crazy
It's a wired mouse and I have just been on Chrome now tabbing to my heart's content and not one single problem.
Why would it only do it in FF I don't get . it only started in FF68 .
I like FF way better than Chrome but this tab problem is really starting to bug me.
