Currently using Firefox 69.0b11 (64-bit) on Mac OS 14.6.
This is relatively recent - last few weeks, I think.
I have 'block all cookies' set, with cookies from just 4 specific sites allowed. Youtube is not one of them. But even though no Youtube cookie shows in my data window and no Youtube tab is open before a quit Firefox, there is one cookie showing in that window when I restart, along with those of the 4 sites I've allowed. Every time. How is this possible. How do I fix this?
thanks,
Alex

Any chance we can return this to the 'General' page? This subgroup isn't generating any responses. I don't know how many people are viewing it.

since 69 is stil in Beta it should stay in " Builds " sub-forum. be petient Grasshopper , also, there are way more Windows Users than Mac Users so my guess you wont get many views or answersmachi1x wrote:Any chance we can return this to the 'General' page? Test in a new, clean Profile.
Make no changes except set FF to block ALL cookies.
Clear your cookies.
Visit YT & wherever else you want.
Quit.
Open FF.
Do any cookies show up in Cookies Manager? (Does FF have such a thing?)
How are you blocking all cookies (& allowing only some)?
(To say the least, from what I see, cookie management is... awkward, confusing, not clear.
[Like who designs this stuff?])
How are you determining that cookies are being saved?
On my end, Nightly, I get addons.mozilla.org cookie(s) - to the best I can determine, regardless of my efforts to block "all cookies"? Otherwise, I wasn't seeing any cookies. (Now you're making me hungry.)
So I'd think, I'm sure, there are mechanisms in place that bypass your wants.

The "Firefox General" forum would likely see even fewer responses and would not be the right place for this sort of question.machi1x wrote:Any chance we can return this to the 'General' page? This subgroup isn't generating any responses. I don't know how many people are viewing it.

Re: persistent Youtube cookie(s). [Mac.]
I don't know if there's another way to reach the folks who deal with this sort of thing, whether it's a bug in Firefox or 'operator error' but I'm still seeing the same action - a youtube.com cookie is present every time I reopen Firefox, while I have All Cookies blocked, made sure to remove the youtube cookie before quitting Firefox previously, and have no youtube pages open on restart.
Any suggestion on the next step to seek a resolution? Is there a group for developers who are coding the Mac version of Firefox?
- thanks
