E BAY PHOTOS? [Mac.]
I've asked this question a few years ago but have never received an answer and the problem exists!
I use an IMAC.
This concerns e bay. I get ebay e mail updates everyday. I have no problem opening the e mail BUT when I click on "SEE ALL RESULTS" they do appear BUT without the photo of the item. I always have to copy the link and open it in SAFARI or CHROME or another browser.
Just wondering why this has not been fixed yet or how to fix it.
Thanks.

- SeaMonkey no longer able to be used with ebay
- You could try changing, SeaMonkey user agent on eBay: - Type about:config in the Address Bar and press Enter to display the list of preferences.
- Ignore the warning message.
- Right click >> New >> String >> general.useragent.override.ebay.com
>>> Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.14; rv:70.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/70.0 - Restart SeaMonkey.
- Done!
Cheers!!

Re: E BAY PHOTOS? [Mac.]
Thanks. I tried this (I think I did it correct!) and got this:
Failed to Connect
The connection was refused when attempting to contact shop.ebay.com.
Though the site seems valid, the browser was unable to establish a connection.
Could the site be temporarily unavailable? Try again later.
Are you unable to browse other sites? Check the computer’s network connection.
Is your computer or network protected by a firewall or proxy? Incorrect settings can interfere with Web browsing.
But maybe I didn't do something right!! After I do this (Right click >> New >> String >> general.useragent.override.ebay.com) the box shows "ENTER STRING VALUE" and I typed in "Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.14; rv:70.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/70.0"
But still no pictures! Just the listings.
Thanks

When I had that with Ebay, it was 3rd Party cookies not being allowed.wwe wrote:But still no pictures! Just the listings.

Works for me - I can see pictures:wwe wrote: Here's a URL so you can see if it opens and hops pictures in your SEAMONKEY

No 3rd-party cookies. Actually cookies are not required to see pictures.
ADB+ blocks only this for me:
Code: Select all
*.google.com/adsense/*
Code: Select all
ebayimg.com
Code: Select all
ebaystatic.com
Menu -> View -> Page Info [or just Ctrl+i] -> in a tab "Permissions" check "Load Images" - it should have "Allow" option marked; if it's not then unmark "Use default" and then mark "Allow"
Works?

Re: E BAY PHOTOS? [Mac.]
Don't actually me and dismiss it so lightly, as it can put people off the scent if they get this. Sure don't show all pictures here with all cookies blocked - https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from ... =150&rt=ncTPR75 wrote:No 3rd-party cookies. Actually cookies are not required to see pictures.
The problem I had was years back, but just tried it with cookies blocked and, sure enough, only a third of the pictures show. Maybe it's a Ebay UK thing.

For "ebay.co.uk" 3rd-party cookies are for "ebay.com". For buying there both cookies (.co.uk and .com) must be allowed.Frank Lion wrote:Don't actually me and dismiss it so lightly, as it can put people off the scent if they get this. It's been 10 years since I've bought there something ("Terminus" game). Shipping from Texas (USA) doubled the price... but UK/GB shops didn't shipped it to Poland (because of some regulations)...
EDIT: I'm not "advertising" Firefox compatibility. Maybe UserAgent string has to do something here...
EDIT 2: No, it's not. TEST profile has default (Firefox) UA.

Suggestions? Not yet, but there are questions:wwe wrote:I went to SEE ALL RESULTS and still no pictures showing.
Any more suggestions?
1) What version of SeaMonkey are you using? Latest is 2.49.5 (both 32- and 64-bit)
https://www.seamonkey-project.org/relea ... key2.49.5/
2) Did you check anything related to image blocking (see: posts above)? Can you post pictures of such settings?
3) Do you have some kind of "security software" on your Mac? Such software sometimes want to filter web content.

Hi
Just tried downloading the latest SM but I got this
“SeaMonkey 4” can’t be opened because it is from an unidentified developer."
I went to PERMISSION and I got this
