Katamail. com doesn't work anynore with POP3. help!

Hi, maybe it's not the right forum but I don't know where to post. I have several "katamail.com" accounts that have not been downloading mail for some time. Unbelievable but true. I configured them with "pop.katamail.com" and "smtp.katamail.com"
What should I do to receive mail? There is a lot on the web but the e-mail client cannot download it. I read that katamail has closed its doors, maybe I need to configure something in the settings of the mail client? Thanks

If katamail is about to shut down, see if you can access the email as an imap account instead of pop. imap setting is imap.katamail.com
Imap works very differently. Create a NEW account with Thunderbird, do not try to change your existing email settings. Thunderbird can support multiple accounts.

Hey, have just created a new account with "gmx.com". It is able to check the emails but it is not able to send email.
I configured it in this way:
SMTP SERVER: smtp.gmx.com
POP: pop.gmx.com
When I try to send an email I get this error:
ERROR Talking to SMTP Server (554 smtp205.alice.it Service not
available).
Why do I have this problem?

SMTP error code 554 is rather vague but normally means the server saw something in the From: or To: headers that it didn't like. However "Service not available" usually means the server is temporarily not available (to anybody). Usually if you wait a day that problem fixes itself.

If you have another account you can configure your GMX account to use the other accounts SMTP server as a temporary workaround. That's done using a list box in the GMX account settings (same pane where you email address is specified)

I used also "mail.tin.it" instead of "smtp.gmx.com". But it doesn't work too.

Okay, just for troubleshooting purposes add a Gmail IMAP account and try to send from it to your gmx email address. If that works then we know that Thunderbird is healthy, and we need to focus on the gmx account and its settings/identities.
