I dunno, I deleted my profile and did a clean install... SeaMonkey still won't properly connect to my college's Outlook account with SMTP. IMAP works. Any ideas?

Those are valid settinss for a Hotmail/Outlook web mail account. Have you confirmed with your college's IT group that those settings are valid for the school's servers as well?

At work, smtp and pop are blocked...
Seamonkey is not in fault, it is only the IT team decision...

Bac_a_sable,

May I ask why? they decided to do that?
Because they can? Example:
https://its.uiowa.edu/support/article/104970
Configuring IMAP or POP to Access the Office 365 Server
IMAP/POP will no longer be available for Office 365 users. This is one of the efforts to better secure our email environment. If you are currently using IMAP/POP to access your Office 365 account we will not remove access. However, ITS recommends using Outlook (Windows or Mac), OWA or Outlook mobile (iOS or Android) clients.

We offer limited support for other email clients to access the Office 365 servers.
Looks like some universities don't like free and open source... #-o

They decide this because THEY do not use it in organization and so block it to "prevent" security problems.
Since it was to access to my personal maibox, now i spend time to open a web browser (seamonkey :) ) to look at mail: about double or triple time lost...
I can hear the company point of view: do not spend resource to filter "pop"

Bac_a_sable,

OK, I would venture to guess that they already pay for anti-virus and a spam filter. Pretty much automated stuff. Sounds like overkill.

Oh yes, antivirus... that brings a lot of recurrent problems. (kas...ky)
We (users) spend to much work time with it (some tools suddenly stop working... until IT "discover" antivirus block the tool... again and again) Each "update" brings new problems :( (personal opinion)
But this is a decision i have no chance to influence (and do not want to: company's security is IT team responsibility, mine also but at user"s level)
