Hi, connected to IMAP for many Microsoft and Gmail accounts.
Until recently, my Microsoft accounts were doing fine and my Gmail accounts work fine without password prompts. But suddenly, my Microsoft accounts keep requesting password. I can ignore/exit the prompt, re-enter the passwords, and whilst the accounts allow me to send and receive emails, TB still keeps requesting the passwords every day. My Microsoft account settings: Incoming=SSL/TLS Outgoing: SMTP=STARTTLS. Does anybody know how to fix this? ![]() Go to TOOLS > OPTIONS >SECURITY > PASSWORDS tab> SAVED PASSWORDS button and there you can delete the old stored passwords. Restart Thunderbird to ensure that the stored password is cleared from memory. The next time you "Get Mail" Thunderbird will ask for the password and you can check the box to remember the value, which should eliminate the password entry prompts.
Removed the passwords, restarted, re-entered them but it's still prompting me again after several restarts.
![]() No offense but you didn't say whether you checked the option in the password entry dialogue to have Thunderbird save that password for automatic entry.
No offence taken
![]() I logged into all the Microsoft accounts and saw no problems or errors. It's only affecting my Microsoft email accounts, not my Gmail accounts. I just deleted all MS accounts from TB & local storage, then re-added them manually. The problem returned.
Should the server name be: imap-mail.outlook.com at port 993?
