More of the same, no-speak, double-speak.
- In the absence of a true standard for browser extensions - We have no immediate plans to remove - We are currently investigating - We are evaluating the proposal What would be nice to hear is, "No! We will continue to do what is right for the user, for the community, for the web.". (Heh.) Fire 750, bring back 250.

SEP 3 2019 You're late to the show. (Wish I had realized that date to begin with. I thought there was something new being posted.) WebExtensions changes coming? Fire 750, bring back 250.

Date of article; first thing one looks at isn't it!? Key word, "no immediate plan" There were extensive discussions........elsewhere. Damn shame that 'zine became the last place to keep up with all things MozCo. #KeepFightingMichael and Alex.

Once upon a time, Firefox extension and theme writers would have picked up on Mozilla 'breaking news' immediately, because the Dev Control Panel has a feed showing this sort of stuff. These days, no one themes for Firefox (or even Thunderbird recently), UI extensions are mainly gone and the new breed of content Webextension extension writers have no affinity or interest in Firefox. Content extension writers have always been a different breed really. Firefox users may also have noticed a lack of good accurate .css snippets for Firefox these days (although Aris, dickvl and morat still sort of fly the flag) and the above is the reason for that as well. NB. "no immediate plan" - became a buzz term around 2009, when they had no immediate plans to remove the statusbar and then, err, removed it. Been a useful 'get out of jail' term for them ever since. "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing." - Edmund Burke (attrib.) google store refused the latest ublock build from gorhill. if he will continue with firefox he maybe should change code but he currently wont run into the limits google will make to chrome.
