Hi, some drongo has redirected the links to all the themes at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunde ... le/?src=ss
to https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/in ... hunderbird
For those of us who don't want to keep downloading the latest stuffed up versions and are happy with our old versions, where are they now please?

Re: mail toolbar background and tab colors
Thunderbird shifted from AMO to their own web site at thunderbird.net a good while ago. Complete themes are at https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/th ... te-themes/ . However, in general version 68 and later don't support complete themes, only lightweight themes. This is because they updated to a newer Mozilla library toolkit. Firefox essentially doesn't support complete themes anymore, so Thunderbird lost the ability when they upgraded to the new toolkit.
Lightweight themes used to be called personas. Some of those in the store were converted to web extension based lightweight themes. They're at https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/th ... ic-themes/ . The rest were supposedly removed from the web site. You can use lightweight webextension themes from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/themes/ with Thunderbird if you download them and use the list box from the gear like icon in tools -> add-ons to install the file.
Version 60 supports webextension based light weight themes. What version are you using? Are you looking for complete themes or personas?

Re: Where are the themes for old versions?
I tried using https://web.archive.org/web/20190719234 ... rd/themes/ (thunderbird.net July 19, 2019). I could browse the collection of lightweight themes that were displayed but every view all ... link was broken. All searches failed. The up&coming, most popular, top rated and recently added links were broken.
I could see the thumbnail for a page worth of personas in every category but every one that I tried to download got a "The Wayback Machine has not archived that URL" error message. I didn't find a way to go to the next page in a category.
https://web.archive.org/web/20160220073 ... underbird/ (addons.mozilla.org Feb 20,2016) displayed the personas on their web page, but didn't seem to provide a way to download the persona since they had a "add to Thunderbird" link. Ditto for Feb 23,2017, March 14, 2018, May 31, 2018 etc. Most later snapshots redirected to the new web site.

I think you'll find that I already said that on the given link above.i.e. - http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic ... #p14840580tanstaafl wrote:I tried using https://web.archive.org/web/20190719234 ... rd/themes/ (thunderbird.net July 19, 2019). Hover over the Persona thumbnails and then click the + Add bit and it installs fine.I could see the thumbnail for a page worth of personas in every category but every one that I tried to download got a "The Wayback Machine has not archived that URL" error message

"Hover over the Persona thumbnails and then click the + Add bit and it installs fine."
Sounds like that would work fine with SeaMonkey but I'm using Thunderbird. Or are you suggesting that I can modify some strings using the config editor like extensions.getAddons.search.browseURL so that I can see that archived web page within tools -> add-ons, and then press the + Add bit?

Re: Where are the themes for old versions?
You can do them via SM and transfer over or use T/Bird directly using https://web.archive.org/web/20190719234 ... rd/themes/ as the value for the extensions.getAddons.search.browseURL pref. Then, use Search for 'any' in the Addons Manager, the page displays and they will install directly when you hit + Add.tanstaafl wrote:Sounds like that would work fine with SeaMonkey but I'm using Thunderbird. Either way, back up any favourites by using the Persona and then going into the T/Bird profile and grabbing both the lightweighttheme-header and lightweighttheme-footer in there, renaming to GREENlightweighttheme-footer or whatever and storing both somewhere safe (add the extension .jpg to the end of lightweighttheme-header and you'll see that it's actually only an image.)
The reason is this - the original Personas are not stored in the profile, but are downloaded each time the user Enables that Persona and every one is called lightweighttheme-header, etc. As this link is uncertain, then best back up asap.
The webextension Personas are different and are actually stored in the profile, like an extension .xpi would be.

I'm not saying the OP should go down this, fairly complicated, route, I'm just saying how it is possible to have Personas on older versions of T/Bird, now that suitable one are not listed on the T/Bird Addons site.
