So Firefox Nightly updates to 72, adds a special icon to the toolbar, which links to a page that tells you what's new in Fx 70 (At least it removes itself after clicked.)

I guess that I am confused here? What is your problem with this?
It is a notice to look at a link to what is new in this release. And then, after you look, the notice is removed?
What's the deal with the search icon on the left side of the address box that looks like its outside the address box, but is actually in the address box???? It has moved my bookmarks icon over to the left. I use the search box in my setup and don't need to be reminded that I can use the address box to search. I can't remove that search icon and mistake it for my drop down bookmarks icon....ugh...
Latest FF Nightly 72, Manjaro Linux xfce (x64) only active icon is uBlock Origin.

The deal is. If you want to do a search from the current tab with a site address in the address bar, you don't have to highlight and delete it or start typing.
Now you click the icon and the address disappears and you type the search term.
Am I the only user that clicked it to see what happens?

When I click the address bar, it automatically highlights everything, so I can just start typing. No deletion required. The bug indicates that there is a larger picture here, and we're going to just have to trust them that it will be a large UI improvement.
The new UI breaks the Keyword search.
[*]#1590754 [Firefox:Address Bar]-Keyword search does not work when click search icon in front of the megabar [All]
Another problem is that you can't easily disable this new feature, which kinda behaves like some nagware adware. Just look what became of Add-ons Manager.
