Domain-specific user-agent override won't work on Firefox 71

Post by anewuser »

Override settings like this aren't working anymore on Firefox 71:

Code: Select all

general.useragent.override.twitter.com;Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 9.0; WOW64; Trident/7.0; rv:11.0)
Did they remove this feature too, or is there a way to make it work again?

That feature has been removed, so it is no longer possible to do this.
You will have to use an extension to modify the user agent.

First I thought twitter removed this "work around" then realized it was this.

Please bring back I really don't want to use an "extension" from an unknown author when it used to be a one-liner config change.

I'm not happy that I now have to use an extension whereas there was previously built-in support.

Can I trust this "User-Agent Switcher" extension I now use?

Please provide a link if you want opinions on an extension.

Naturally, you have to trust the current author, and that he/she won't let anyone else sneak in and take over the extension.
