Switching from Windows 7 to Linux OS

Post by Buzzrr »

 Microsoft is giving us users no choice other than to upgrade to Windows 10 next year which I certainly don't plan on doing.
I need to keep all of my important browser information intact. How do I go about migrating from different operating systems?
Which files do I need to import into the new Linux SeaMonkey browser? :-k
Thanks

Install VirtualBox:
https://www.virtualbox.org/
... and create VM with some Linux distro, e.g. Linux Mint Cinnamon:
https://linuxmint.com/

Test it, including SeaMonkey:

... and then decide.

Thanks, I only need it to get online so that goes for using Thunderbird as well.

You can do what I did and switch to 8.1. With Open Shell Menu previously classic shell it is a good alternative to 7:

https://github.com/Open-Shell/Open-Shell-Menu

Hardware support is the biggest problem right now so you need to choose wisely if you buy new but when it is up is working great. You can set up dual booting linux and move over piecemeal. I f you copy your profile date over some paths might need to be adjusted. Usually shows when you download something and the save dialog is not shown.
