HOW TO EXPORT SEAMONKEY MAIL TO APPLE MAIL
I think someone asked this recently but I can't find it.
I was wondering if there's a way to transfer ALL of the e mail I have in my IN BOX on SM to APPLE MAIL.
I click on EXPORT in SM and nothing happens.
Is there anyway I can go to somewhere on my Mac and transfer files that way?
Thanks

Re: HOW TO EXPORT SEAMONKEY MAIL TO APPLE MAIL
That user had emails in local folders. If, all your relevant messages are in your inbox, and you are using IMAP, then I think that means all those messages are still on the server. So you would not have to import or export anything, just access the server by creating its account within Apple Mail. If you are using pop, I can't be sure. Installing the ImportExportTools extension should give you more options, but if the posts in that thread are correct, the easiest way is probably - find your Seamonkey profile. If you just want inbox, copy inbox and rename the copy to inbox.mbox. Then, do whatever import process Apple Mail has, or overwrite its inbox.mbox with your big one. Since I am not sure, you could try asking at the Apple mail forum, and remember that Seamonkey email data is the same as Thunderbird email data, I think.

Re: HOW TO EXPORT SEAMONKEY MAIL TO APPLE MAIL
Hi,
I am the guy who recently put this query on line here. You will find the recent correspondence (started several weeks ago) under the title DOES APPLE OS 10.15 CATALINA SUPPORT SEAMONKEY. I am trying that migration for years with partial success only. I tried forums, Apple Geniuses in several countries - hopeless. To my knowledge, SM has no EXPORT function and I am surprised you say you clicked on EXPORT in SM. Can you please advise how you did that?
ImportExportTools did not help either. I tried to contact the gentleman who fathered this add-on, but he does not reply.
Perhaps IMAP is the solution but I do not have a desire to put my 300 folders (= 35,000 emails) on nobody's server.
I received many advices but none was satisfactory. On that Catalina string you will see several. I did not try yet the advice given on last two msgs as I am pretty busy lately, but I will do that very soon. I am quite skeptic. I think there's no solution to this migration problem. In case you'll solve it, please let the forum know. Quite some members will be grateful.
Good luck!

Re: HOW TO EXPORT SEAMONKEY MAIL TO APPLE MAIL
Thanks. I have a POP.
I added ImportExportTools as mentioned
Then I went to one of the folders in my IN BOX and right clicked it and it gives me many options like:
EXPORT FOLDER
EXPORT FOLDER (zipped)
EXPORT all messages in the folder which gives you a drop down menu with many option.
1) Am I doing this correct?
2) If so what option do I click on?
Thanks

Re: HOW TO EXPORT SEAMONKEY MAIL TO APPLE MAIL
I'll tell you what I did.
I established a new empty folder on my desktop and named it EXPORT
I right-clicked on one of my SM folders (let's name it ALPHA) that contains 122 email msgs
ImportExport tools
Export folder
Desktop list appeared
I chose EXPORT (the new empty folder)
OPEN (the contents of ALPHA is now in EXPORT)
I now went to Apple's MAIL
FILE
IMPORT MAIL BOXES
Bingo! migration completed
However, only 80 msgs were migrated - two thirds. One third evaporated en route.
This is the problem.
I suggest you experiment yourself and let's see how did you fare.
Night is here (Israel) so I'll reply to you tomorrow.
Bye for now

Do you have a Mac? If so any idea where (doing it this way) it went to?

Hi Amigo,
Yes, I work MacBookPro OS 10.9.5
I have no idea where did you go, but I can explain where did I go.
I prepared three screenshots describing what I did but I have no idea how to attach them to my reply here.
Hence I suggest you either send me your email address, so I can shoot across my instructions backed by pics, or you instruct me how to attach pics here on this forum.
Whatever way you decide, it's bed time for me now.
I shall be back on deck after 06:00 GMT Thr
Good night to you as well.

Re: HOW TO EXPORT SEAMONKEY MAIL TO APPLE MAIL
On my IMAC if I go to SYSTEM INFORMATION and then to APPLICATION and scroll down to find SM it shows that SM 2.49.5 is compatible with the 64 bit CATALINA but I'm sure I've seen on this site that it isn't!
What is the actual truth?
