Thanks for this wonderful add-on!!

I installed the version 5.1 from the downloaded file, but ... now I cannot filter any more. None of the buttons seems to work, e.g. if I select "Attachment" nothing happens and the full list of messages is still displayed. If I select some "Text filters" the corresponding buttons are not displayed. If I enter a search term, the list of messages is not updated.

I checked the error console, but there are no error messages related to TotalQuickFilter. I even created a new profile and installed TotalQuickFilter in this profile beside the default Lightning and WeTransfer add-on. There the experience was even worse: I could not even open the drop-down menu for the "Text filters".

TotalQuickFilter 5.0 worked.

My system:
Linux Mint 19.3
Cinnamon desktop
Thunderbird 68.4.1 (64-bit)

Is there anything I can help with with finding the causes of this regression?

It works for me on mint 19.3 mate and 68.4.2; the only exception is I don't have Lighting installed. Please try disabling it. Also, try the alpha next release on the downloads page, TQF-5.2a.xpi.

I disabled Lightning and WeTransfer, re-installed TotalQuickFilter 5.1 and 5.2a, same result. When I tried to configure the toolbar, it looks like there is a flexible space where the buttons should be. I reset the toolbars, but this did not help.

I have a sceenshot, but can find nowhere to add it here.

I assume you tried again with 5.2a on a clean profile. Otherwise, if there's nothing in the console (make sure you have all levels of message types like debug checked on), it's very hard to diagnose.

Do you know how to use Tools-Developer Tools-Developer Toolbox, and maybe use Inspector to look at dom nodes etc?

As already mentioned, no version above 68.* is supported.

I tried TotalQuickFilter 5.2, It is working fine in Thunderbird 68.4.1
