Thanks.

I did highlight what appears and then went up to VIEW>SHOW NAME AS and if I check either FIRST NAME or LAST NAME I can now see the e mail but not the way I'm used to as when I click the email it shows the emails in FIRST NAME and not in E MAIL.

I did take two SCREEN SHOTS but how do I add them to my message?

I did go to that link you had sent about adding an image but it's too confusing. There must be an easier way

No, this forum does not permit direct inclusion of an image. We had far too many graphic porn images posted in the past so it now only possible to post links to an image hosting site.

Oh I see.

Well what image hosting site would you suggest me going to?

I'm still trying to figure out how to get my e mails from FURST NAME to E MAILS. It must be fairly easy but I just can't figure it out

Some folks here use Imgur -- https://imgur.com/ You'll need to register for an account but it's free.

While viewing one of those uploaded images, you should see a right hand column listing "Image Link", "Direct Link", etc. with a "Copy" button to the right. At the bottom of that column, click on "Medium Thumbnail" and then click on the "Copy" button to the right of the "BBC Code" option. That will put a code for a link into the clipboard of your operating system. Paste that link in to a reply here on this forum and then submit the reply.

Based on that first image it seems that the CSV file you have contains only email addresses. If you open that file (the CSV file) using a text editor, can you see anything other than a series of email addresses? Are there first names, last names, etc also present in the file? If not, than what you see is what you got! SeaMonkey would not be able to add the additional information if only email addresses are available in the file. As a result, it is loading the email address into the first available field of the address book, the First Name field.

Note, it you need to post any additional images, please click on "Large Thumbnail" rather than "Medium Thumbnail".

Actually the csv does have some first and last names but most of it is just the e mail. So when I go into Sm to try and send a message to everyone in the address book it says "You cannot add a card that has no primary email address"

So is it possible at all to change it so it will be able to be used when i send an e mail out?

Thanks

Ok will send LARGE next time. I didn't realize I was sending it as MEDIUM

You would need to edit the CSV file, ideally using a spreadsheet program that can save the edited data in CSV format. The following columns should be the first in the final file:

First Name, Last Name, Display Name, Nickname, Primary Email,Secondary Email, Screen Name

The import process simply reads from the CSV file and puts the value found in each row as a new entry in the address book created by the import process. Thus when there is nothing but an email address in a row, that address will be what appears in the First Name field of the imported Address Book.

You might consider saving a copy of that CSV file, so you have two files. Then in one file, delete all of the records that DON'T have First Name and Last Name. Import that into SeaMonkey, creating a new address book that will have contact names and email addresses.
Edit the other file to add four columns in front of the email address so there will be blank fields (from the empty columns) in the address book that will be created. Later you can edit each record in the address book (if you feel you need to) with First Name, Last name, etc.
You can also delete the address book created previously, the ones that are a mix of just email addresses and a few records with name and address.
