The 1st link is just FAQ's, not a forum,
That 2nd link is dead "Unable to connect" message. I even shortened the URL to the domain name and the same message.

Would you Significant "expert" Contributors PLEASE take a look at Eileen's Lounge above that I have visited mostly for Win 10 (Clk Portal/ Board Index for Forums list).
Same Layout / Posting Format as here, it appears -- and Hans V in the Netherlands is the main Solution provider of what is a fairly limited But competent number of visitors in All of the Forums.
Interesting, never heard of it.
This isn't new. The oldest post I found after a short search was from 2010. The 1st problem is the sub forums are hidden in a pop up box in the lower right corner instead of being listing in the existing list on the home page like every other forum.
And it does use the same software as this.

Didn't know about the last 2. What's the difference between a mailing list and a newsgroup?
Are the Google groups run by Mozilla?

It is not a KB only as they have a support forum connected with it.

However this is not the point of the thread. It is more for the discussion of trying to keep the mozillaZine forums alive some way.

AFAICT the forums listed do not seem to cover pre-release builds which is the main reason we come here.

Read the first page and the last, but not the middle 7. Is there a plan to continue here or not?

There is a proposed plan (have Ian Neal replace Kerz as the sysadmin, and continue using free hosting at OSL) but nobody knows whether Kerz is receptive to that idea, and whether they have started to talk about it. Kerz's last post was on Sept 24 and we don't even know whether he read Frank's post suggesting Ian Neal as a replacement or the email I sent Kerz about that post. In the interim Kerz has made the KB wiki read-only (not a good sign).

To make things more complicated, Kerz was apparently in the midst of moving the web site from some old dedicated hardware (hosted at OSL) to a centrally OSL managed virtual machine. So if Ian replaced him the assumption is he wouldn't just keep things running, he'd have to resume the effort to move to a centrally OSL managed virtual machine (in order to keep the free hosting at OSL). That may be more work than he is willing to do.

I just stumbled on this thread by accident. I have had nothing but the greatest service from the dedicated moderators who help those like me who are just users and not program specialists.

There seem to be two main questions: finding someone who has the skills/time/desire to take over the maintenance and day-to-day operations, and the cost involved.

I can't help with the first, but I can with the second. Does anyone know how much it would cost to continue on an annual basis?

Eileen's lounge uses what appears to be the same exact BBS software as MozillaZine. Checkout http://www.eileenslounge.com/viewforum.php?f=36 .

It seems to me that the users here would follow wherever our great moderators chose to go. If the moderators were to work out setting up at Eileen's Lounge (or any other similar place), then the users here would follow. Kerz offered already to have this url forward to any replacement url most people agreed upon. Something like setting up for questions, answers, and comments at a place like Eileen's lounge for example would allow the postings and conversations to continue just as they have gone on here. Kerz says the knowledge base will remain online and searchable. So between those two things it would almost be the same as what happens here.

Just a thought, but I'm not optimistic that enough of the necessary cats around here can be hearded all in the same direction. It would be nice if I was wrong about that.
