New build release today
Just had some Thunderbirds update today.
I think it is 68.6.0.
Still no 64-bit.

Hi there,
I think that you'll find all the available versions here... including the 64 bit one...

Moving this to Thunderbird Support...

Re: New build release today
Take a current shipping version 32-bit BUILD.
Go to Help:About Thunderbird.
It does NOT automatically update to a 64-bit BUILD.
This is also an announcement about a new BUILD, not a request for "Thunderbird Support".
Please move this post back to the BUILDS forum area.
Thank you.

Re: New build release today
Why would a 32bit build be upgraded to a 64bit build? Makes no logical sense whatsoever

Re: New build release today
Probably they usually pull that just before a long weekend when the devs have all gone

Thunderbird 68.6.0 is a release version.
The Builds forum is for discussion of Beta and Daily builds.
The 32-bit version won't update to the 64-bit version until the Enhancement bug implementing it is resolved. It's still a WIP.

I am looking for the answer to a question about 64-bit builds. I'm not sure what your problem is. Who is "trolling" here?

Re: New build release today
The VERY simple answer to your issue is to manually update to the 64bit version after which all updates will be in the 64bit version. It's not really worth all the posts complaining about this when all it takes is that simple step.

One post would probably work just fine, but they keep getting moved or deleted or monkeyed up by cyber stalkers like "Rabbit4".DanRaisch wrote:The VERY simple answer to your issue is to manually update to the 64bit version after which all updates will be in the 64bit version. The question was NOT about manual updating. That process is very clear. The question was about having the program auto-update by going to Help:About Thunderbird.
Thanks for letting me clarify that for you.

Re: New build release today
Nothing needed clarifying. What you were going on about WAS clear before your last post. My point is you spent a lot of your time and caused others to spend theirs (although they could have ignored you) by posting about a trivial gripe. Even the 32bit auto update can fail at some times for some folks and the solution is just to download and run the installer for the newer version. 32bit to 64bit could have been the same.
With the browser there should be clear benefits in performance due to a move to 64bit. That's not the case with an email client so the auto-update to 64bit was not a subject worthy of a lot of discussion.

Re: New build release today
as Dan has said, there is no real benefits by using a 64bit email client over 32bit email client, whereas there is with a Browser
having said that, is there any point keeping this thread opened
