Add on or anything else that let me open any link in a txt,
Is there an add on or anything else that let me open any link (the mouse pointer is over) in a txt, odt, Word document in Firefox? E.g. by clicking an item in the context menu?

Are you saying the link itself or the page pointed to by the link?
You can open (any) text on a page [that's awkwardly said] (you can search for any text on a web page) in Everything search (using a bookmarklet).

I mean, there is a link in a file in some program, e.g. in a txt file open in Notepad (++) or an odt file in OpenOffice or doc / doxc in Word, etc. each containing a link. And I want to open the page the link leads to in Firefox (by clicking the link and that file). So it is: the page pointed to by the link, I would say.Are you saying the link itself or the page pointed to by the link?
Sorry, I do not understand at all.You can open (any) text on a page [that's awkwardly said] (you can search for any text on a web page) in Everything search (using a bookmarklet).

There are macro programs that run at the system level. You can define a keyboard shortcut ("hotkey") to do anything you like with selected text, such as send it to Firefox. As long as the particular program doesn't have a conflicting definition, the macro program should work.
Here's an example: https://www.autohotkey.com/

Thank you for the link.
So one has to program / record the action at first. OK, I will try it.

You could highlight some text on a web page, say the word, 'understand'.Sorry, I do not understand at all.
Click a button, & have (Everything Search) open up, display file names on your computer containing the word, understand.
So it might find the file names: Splashdown - I Understand.mp3 & Understanding Financial Statements.ppt
(This is the opposite direction you're wanting to go. From browser to external application.
You want from external application to browser.)

Ah, now the context gets clearer. Everything is one of the best (or the best) (search( program I daily use very often. I didn't such is possible with Everything. How does one have to do that? You could highlight some text on a web page, say the word, 'understand'.
Click a button, & have (Everything Search) open up, display file names on your computer containing the word, understand.
I see, so this just is another idea (independently of what I asked for) to use Everything to find words (marked in Firefox) in file and folder names on my computer.(This is the opposite direction you're wanting to go. From browser to external application.
