hi there
I am running win 10 pro and latest version of FF
I foolishly installed Proton VPN free version, and am now experiencing problems.
I have tried using Revo Uninstaller and Control Panel Programs & Features to try and uninstall it, but it does not appear anywhere.
May I kindly ask how do I uninstall this pesky freeware from FF?
kindest thanks
cheers
peter

Sadly the program or app does not appear in either Programs & Features nor Revo Uninstaller program.
May i kindly ask if there is another way to uninstall it
thanks

Re: How to remove Proton VPN
to everyone who may ever have this problem....
There are many solutions out in google search land, and none of them work simply because Proton VPN does not appear in uninstaller programs such as Revo or Programs and features.
I resolved the problem by doing a system restore.
As a habit I create a restore point every Saturday morning.
The restore took about 30 minutes, but the protonVPN is gone
good luck everyone

Moving to MozillaZine Tech as this is not a Firefox Support issue.

Re: How to remove Proton VPN
Sounds to me like your issue was most likely a Windows 10 issue. I have ProtonVPN installed on my Windows 7 system and its two installable components "ProtonVPN" and "ProtonVPNTap" both appear in "Programs and Features". I know from past experience that they can be uninstalled quite readily from Programs and Features.
Should say that I still use ProtonVPN, it's pretty good for a freebie. I don't understand why you don't like and regard it as "pesky".

g'day Scotty <smiles>
My reason to dislike it was that it slowed my internet speed down 90% from 150Mb down to around 8Mb
Congrats it works great for you, and I believe millions of others
c'est la vie
best wishes

Re: How to remove Proton VPN
So, you believe an internet service such as VPN or anonymizer that sends your traffic all over the internet to accomplish its function should perform as quickly as a direct path.
If you had bothered to to do a little research you would find that your results were exactly as expected.

Re: How to remove Proton VPN
thank you dot guy
I did in fact learn about VPN;s and have been using one. I thought I would try Proton out.
I understood it would be slower, but not from 150Mb down to less than 10Mb.
My exisitng VPN does not have that drastic effect
Thank you for your time to respond
Have a good one m8
cheers

What's your "existing VPN", was it installed when you tried Proton?
